Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

One Thing is Necessary

“If you learn everything except Christ, you learn nothing. If you learn nothing except Christ, you learn everything.”~St. Bonaventure

The Discipline of Darkness

“At times God puts us through the discipline of darkness to teach us to heed him. Songbirds are taught to sing in the dark, and we are put into the shadow of God’s hand until we learn to hear him.…Are you in the dark just now in your circumstances, or in your life with God?…When you are in the dark, listen, and God will give you a very precious message for someone else when you get into the light.” ~Oswald Chambers

Jan. 27: Blessed Edward Oldcorne, Martyr

God of power and mercy, you gave Bl. Edward Oldcorne the grace to overcome the sufferings of martyrdom. Grant to us who celebrate his victory that the power of your protecting hand may keep us unshaken in the face of our ancient enemy and all his hidden snares. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Jan 26: Saints Timothy and Titus

O God, who adorned Saints Timothy and Titus with apostolic virtues, grant, through the intercession of them both, that, living justly and devoutly in this present age, we may merit to reach our heavenly homeland. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Jan. 25: Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle

O GOD, who, through the preaching of the blessed Apostle Saint Paul, hast caused the light of the Gospel to shine throughout the world; Grant, we beseech thee, that we, having his wonderful conversion in remembrance, may show forth our thankfulness unto thee for the same, by following the holy doctrine which he taught; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The Dignity of Every Human Life

God our Creator, we give thanks to you, who alone have the power to impart the breath of life as you form each of us in our mother’s womb; grant, we pray, that we, whom you have made stewards of creation, may remain faithful to this sacred trust and constant in safeguarding the dignity of every human life.
