January 8: The Baptism of the Lord

Almighty, ever-living God, when Christ was baptized in the river Jordan the Holy Spirit came upon him and your voice proclaimed from heaven, ‘This is my beloved Son.’ Grant that we, who by water and the Holy Spirit are your adopted children, may continue steadfast in your love. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

St. André Bessette

Lord our God, friend of the lowly, who gave your servant, Saint André Bessette, a great devotion to Saint Joseph and a special commitment to the poor and afflicted, help us through his intercession to follow his example of prayer and love and so come to share with him in your glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint André, pray for us.

Jan 4: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Almighty God, who willest to be glorified in thy saints, and didst raise up thy servant Elizabeth Ann Seton to be a light in the world; Shine, we pray, in our hearts, that we also in our generation may show forth thy praise, who hast called us out of darkness into thy marvelous light; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Jan. 3: The Holy Name of Jesus

Lord, may we who honor the holy name of Jesus enjoy his friendship in this life and be filled with eternal joy in his kingdom. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Jan. 2: St. Basil and St. Gregory

God our Father, you enriched your Church and gave examples for us to follow in the life and teaching of Saint Basil and Saint Gregory. Grant that, learning your truth with humility, we may practice it in faith and love. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Jan. 1: Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

O God, who through the fruitful virginity of Blessed Mary bestowed on the human race the grace of eternal salvation, grant, we pray, that we may experience the intercession of her, through whom we were found worthy to receive the author of life, our Lord Jesus Christ your Son. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

As 2018 Begins

As 2018 begins we would like to thank all of you who joined us last year to support consecrated life at Little Portion Hermitage with your tithes and offerings of time, talent and treasure.

Our prayer for this New Year is that you will experience on a deep level the Good News as reflected in Ephesians 1:3-10:

“Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has bestowed on us in Christ every spiritual blessing in the heavens.

“God chose us in Him before the world began to be holy and blameless in His sight.

“He predestined us to be His adopted children through Jesus Christ, such was His will and pleasure, that all might praise the glorious favor He has bestowed on us in His beloved.

“In Him and through His blood, we have been redeemed, and our sins forgiven, so immeasurably generous is God’s favor to us.

“God has given us the wisdom to understand fully the mystery, the plan he was pleased to decree in Christ.

A plan to be carried out in Christ, in the fullness of time, to bring all things into one in him, in the heavens and on earth.”

May God Bless and Keep You.
