Last Day of Eastertide

God of mercy and compassion, you strengthen the weak to proclaim the Gospel by fidelity of life. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, strengthen all your people by the power of the Spirit to live what we proclaim, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Saint Dunstan

Direct your Church, O Lord, into the beauty of holiness, that, following the good example of your servant Dunstan, we may honor your Son Jesus Christ with our lips and in our lives; to the glory of his Name, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Easter Tuesday, Week VII

O God of wisdom and of love, you have made us as fragile as the flowers of the field, yet you have made us strong in the hope of life everlasting. On the vigil of his death, your Son prayed for all upon whom he wished to shower the gift of new life. Teach us to see this day as that gift, that we may live it for your glory and render it back to you in praise when evening falls, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint Isidore the Farmer

Lord God, all creation is yours, and you call us to serve you by caring for the gifts that surround us. May the example of Saint Isidore urge us to share our food with the hungry and to work for the salvation of mankind. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Ascension of the Lord*

O God, you descended in the cloud to the Mount of Olives, as once you descended in the cloud upon Mount Sinai. On Sinai you gave the law of the covenant to Moses. On the Mount of Olives you took to yourself in glory the One who is the law of the new and eternal covenant. Let us who are the members of his body live in joyful expectation of his return, keeping faith with the covenant sealed in his blood, until that day when we can sing your praises face-to-face. Who lives and reigns with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer from Magnificat Magazine, American Edition, Morning Prayer, Thursday, May 13, 2021

*The ecclesiastical provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Omaha, and Philadelphia have retained the celebration of the Ascension of the Lord on the proper Thursday, while all other provinces of the United States have transferred this Solemnity to the Seventh Sunday of Easter, May 16.

Easter Wednesday, Week VI

O God, Creator and Redeemer, you are the author of being and life. Inspire in us a spirit of praise, that we may give you glory in everything we think and say and do, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Easter Tuesday, Week VI

God of glory and majesty, you pour forth the Spirit of life through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord. Animate us with your truth, sustain us with your love, and send us forth armed with conviction to proclaim the Good News of your dominion over death, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
