May Your Desire Be Ours

Loving Father, you desire to feed, clothe, and shelter all your children. Forgive the sin that seeks to feed, to dress, and to live at the expense of those in need; grant the generosity that seeks to care for all that you have given, through Christ our Lord. Amen*

The Tree of Life

God our Father, by the Death of your Son, you planted the seed of the tree of life deep in this earth. By his Resurrection, you gave it light and warmth. By the gift of the Spirit, you water it with the waters of life that flowed from his side on the cross. May our lives bear its fruit, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen

God loves the leper in us

God of all goodness, no condition of ours will turn you away from us whom you have redeemed through the Death and Resurrection of your Son. Strengthen us in faith, that we may put our trust in your love for us in every circumstance, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen*

The Lord, the Giver of Life

O God, you give life to the world through the life, Death, and Resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the intercession of his Mother, grant us the light and healing he brings, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Divine Physician

O God, our Healer and our Good, you sent your Son to cure the world’s sickness by taking upon himself the burden of its guilt. Heal the diseased vision that causes us to mistake evil for good; heal the sickened mind that causes us to mistake selfishness for love; heal the unhealthy habits that we have made our own, so that we may stand before you, whole in body, soul, and spirit, to sing your praise for ever with all the saints, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen*

Our Lady of Lourdes; World Day of Prayer for the Sick

Lord, you care for all the earth. Yet your care for us, whom you have made in your image, is greater far than your care for land or sea, beast or bird. If it be your will, heal our ills of body, mind, and spirit, so that with the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints, we may sing your praise for ever, through Christ our Lord. Amen

Saint Scholastica

As we celebrate anew the Memorial of Saint Scholastica, we pray, O Lord, that, following her example, we may serve you with pure love and happily receive what comes from loving you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint Teilo

Lord our God, as the blessed bishop Teilo taught your Church with grace and simplicity, and in adversity sustained it by his prayer, so in our day guide and console us through his intercession. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

February 8: Saint Josephine Bakhita

O God, who led Saint Josephine Bakhita from abject slavery to the dignity of being your daughter and a bride of Christ, grant, we pray, that by her example we may show constant love for the Lord Jesus crucified, remaining steadfast in charity and prompt to show compassion. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
