Saint Catherine of Siena

“Oh, abyss of love! What heart can help breaking when it sees such a dignity as Yours descend to such loving us as our humanity? We are Your image, and You have become ours, by this union which You have accomplished with man, veiling the Eternal Deity with the cloud of woe, and the corrupted clay of Adam. For what reason?–Love. Wherefore, You, O God, have become man, and man has become God.” ~Saint Catherine of Siena

Almighty God, you made Saint Catherine of Siena a contemplative lover of the Lord’s sufferings and an ardent servant of your church. Grant through her prayer that your people may be united to Christ in his mystery, and rejoice for ever in the revelation of his glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Easter Monday, Week III

To live in the light of resurrection–that is what Easter means.
~Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Saint Mark the Evangelist

O God, who raised up Saint Mark, your Evangelist, and endowed him with the grace to preach the Gospel, grant, we pray, that we may so profit from his teaching as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen

Lord God, you crowned Saint Fidelis with a martyr’s death, when, filled with your love, he was preaching the faith. Let our lives be rooted in love, so that with him, and by his prayer, we may know the power of God’s resurrection. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint George

Proclaiming your glory, Lord, we humbly ask that as Saint George imitated Christ in his passion, so he may be a ready helper in our weakness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

Saint Anselm of Canterbury

O God, who led the Bishop Saint Anselm to seek out and teach the depths of your wisdom, grant, we pray, that our faith in you may so aid our understanding, that what we believe by your command may give delight to our hearts. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Second Monday in Eastertide

Second Monday in Eastertide

Almighty, ever-living God, we confidently call you Father as well as Lord. Renew your Spirit in our hearts: make us ever more perfectly your children, so that we may enter upon the inheritance you have promised us. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Second Sunday of Easter

God of everlasting mercy, each Easter you rekindle the faith of your consecrated people. Give them still greater grace, so that all may truly understand the waters in which they were cleansed, the Spirit by which they were reborn, the blood by which they were redeemed. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Easter Saturday

We thank you, heavenly Father, that you have delivered us from the dominion of sin and death and brought us into the kingdom of your Son; and we pray that, as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his love he may raise us to eternal joys; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
