Forgive without Restrictions

You know, O Lord, how hard we find it to forgive those who have offended us. Yet you ask us to forgive without restrictions. Make us capable, Lord, of the love you ask of us, for alone we cannot do what you have asked. Help us through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Live Profoundly

O God, you sent your Son into the waiting world to give life in abundance to people of every nation and tongue. Speak to the world in our day through the eloquence of Word and sacrament faithfully preached, reverently celebrated, and profoundly lived by those who bear your name. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

3rd Sunday of Lent

Saint Joseph

Almighty God, who called Saint Joseph to a life of quiet trust and faithful labor, grant us the grace to imitate Christ’s foster father, that we may be pillars of patience and integrity in our homes and places of work, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Spread Love

Father, you are all-merciful. Look not upon our sinfulness but on our desire to serve you in love. Teach us to be good stewards of your gifts and to be compassionate to others. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let Us Do As He Did

O Christ, you washed the feet of your disciples, though you are both Lord and Master. Strip us of the garments of pride, and free us to do for one another the tasks of love as you have done them for us. In your name we pray, Lord Jesus Christ, who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Show Me Your Glory

O God, I have tasted Your goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want You; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Your glory, I pray, so I may know You indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, ‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.’ Then give me grace to rise and follow You up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long. Amen.

Love, Forgive, Bless

O God, you have loved us without our deserving it. You have forgiven us without our earning it. You have blessed us when we could not bless you. Grant us the grace to love as we have been loved, through Christ our Lord. Amen
