Saint Lawrence

O Lord, the fire of your love filled the martyr Saint Lawrence with the courage to defy the fear of death for the sake of the Gospel. Grant all your people the grace to love as he loved, to live as he lived, and to die in the faith for which he died, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

God of mercy and compassion, you sent food to strengthen the prophet Elijah for the journey to the place where he would meet you. You sent bread to strengthen your people in the desert for the journey to the promised land. You send us in Christ the Bread of Life to strengthen us for our journey on the road of discipleship. Sustain us in courage, faith, and hope, that we may one day see you face to face, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen

Through the Intercessions of Mary

God, the Father of lights, let the light of your face shine upon the darkness of our sin. Through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, free us from the shadows to which we cling and draw us into the light of your eternal kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The Transfiguration of the Lord

O God, whom no eye has ever seen, You have revealed Your glory in the transfigured face of Your Son. Through His voice, You have spoken Your Word to us. Give light to our eyes; make us attentive to the Gospel, for in baptism we have become His brothers and sisters and Your children. Hear us through this same beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Draw near to your servants, O Lord, and answer their prayers with unceasing kindness, that, for those who glory in you as their Creator and guide, you may restore what you have created and keep safe what you have restored. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen
