March 8: Saint John of God

O God, who filled Saint John of God with a spirit of compassion, grant, we pray, that, giving ourselves to works of charity, we may merit to be found among the elect in your Kingdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
St. John of God, Pray for us.

March 7: Saints Perpetua & Felicity

With overwhelming love for you, Lord God, your martyrs Perpetua and Felicity defied the persecutor and overcame the pain of death. Listen to their prayers and grant that we may love you daily more and more. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

March 6: Saint Collette

“O Blessed Jesus, I dedicate myself to Thee in health, in illness, in my life and in my death, in all my desires, in all my deeds. So that I may never work henceforth except for Thy glory, for the salvation of souls, and for that which Thou has chosen me. From this moment on, Dearest Lord, there is nothing which I am not prepared to undertake for love of Thee. Amen” ~St. Collette
St. Collette, pray for us.

It begins with silence.

“Unfortunately, in seeing ourselves as we truly are, not all that we see is beautiful and attractive. This is undoubtedly part of the reason we flee silence. We do not want to be confronted with our hypocrisy, our phoniness. We see how false and fragile is the false self we project. We have to go through this painful experience to come to our true self. It is a harrowing journey, a death to self – the false self – and no one wants to die. But it is the only path to life, to freedom, to peace, to true love. And it begins with silence. We cannot give ourselves in love if we do not know and possess ourselves. This is the great value of silence. It is the pathway to all we truly want.” ~Fr. Basil Pennington

O Lord and Master of my life…

O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, faint-heartedness, lust for power and idle talk, but give to me, your servant, the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love. O Lord and King, grant to me to see my own faults and not to judge my brother. For blessed are thou unto the ages of ages. Amen

March 2: St. Chad

Almighty God, whose servant Chad, for the peace of the Church, relinquished cheerfully the honors that had been thrust upon him, only to be rewarded with equal responsibility: Keep us, we pray thee, from thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, and ready at all times to give place to others, in honor preferring one another, that the cause of Christ may be advanced; in the name of him who washed his disciples’ feet, even the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

St. Chad, pray for us.

March 1: St. David of Wales

“Be joyful. Keep your faith, and do the little things.” ~St. David

Almighty God, who didst call thy servant David to be a faithful and wise steward of thy mysteries for the people of Wales: Mercifully grant that, following his purity of life and zeal for the gospel of Christ, we may with him receive the crown of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and ever.

St. David of Wales, pray for us.
