About FLPH

Mission

To support the worship of God, eremitic life inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, Christ-centered solitude, contemplative silence, intercessory prayer and the spiritual works of mercy.

Vision

We believe consecrated life to be essential to the spiritual well-being of the Body of Christ, most especially the witness of those in consecrated life whose lives give first place to prayer for the glory of God, the good of the Church and the salvation of the world. Through the generosity of benefactors the Friends of Little Portion Hermitage seek to provide for the temporal needs of hermitage and those of the hermit who currently resides there, Br. Rex Anthony Norris.

Little Portion Hermitage

Founded by Br. Rex in August of 2007 for the glory of God and inspired by the example of St. Francis of Assisi, Little Portion Hermitage is a place of Christ-centered solitude, sacred silence, and intercessory prayer. Brother is a hermit in accordance with Canon 603 of the Roman Catholic Church’s Code of Canon Law and is under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of the Diocese of Portland, Maine.
