“I Abandon Myself…”

“Put your head frequently round the oratory door to say to Jesus: ‘I abandon myself into your arms.’ Leave everything you have ‑‑ your wretchedness ‑‑ at his feet. In this way, in spite of the welter of things you carry along behind you, you will never lose your peace.” ~Saint Josemarie Escriva, from The Forge, #306

Pure of Heart

O God and giver of all good gifts, you cleanse us from stain of sin and make us pure of heart through your Son Jesus Christ. Lead us to dwell with you in holiness in our everyday lives through constant growth in love for you and for all those whose lives we touch, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen

Saint Richard of Chichester (1197 – 1253)

God our Father, in Saint Richard of Chichester you gave a light to your faithful people. You made him a pastor of the Church to feed your sheep with his word and to teach them by his example. Help us by his prayers to keep the faith he taught and follow the way of life he showed us. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Bl. Peter Snow and Bl. Ralph Grimston, Marytrs

Almighty, every-living God, you gave your martyrs Peter and Ralph grace to lay down their lives for Christ. Help our weakness too: give us the strength to live for you even as they did not shrink from dying for your sake. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Master Gardener

O Lord our God, you have replanted on our earth the garden lost in Eden, and you have sent a new Gardener to till the soil plowed by the wood of the cross. He who is both the farmer and the seed has watered the earth with his life’s blood, shed for our redemption. Make us grow in his likeness by the power of his word dwelling in our hearts. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary

Father, you prepared the heart of the Virgin Mary to be a fitting home for your Holy Spirit. By her prayers may we become a more worthy temple of your glory. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

O God our Father, in honoring the heart of your beloved Son, we tell the wonders of your love for all people. May your Church always mirror your love to the whole world, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Fill us with Your Light

Lord, rise up and come to our aid; with your strong arm lead us to freedom, as you mightily delivered our forefathers. Since you are the king who knows the secrets of our hearts, fill them with the light of truth. Amen

Saint Columba

Lord, warm our hearts with zeal for your kingdom and a longing for its fulfillment. Make our lives rich in good works, and so bring us to share the glory of Saint Columba, when we see you face to face and are one with you always. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint Ephraem

Lord God, in your kindness open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, under whose inspiration Saint Ephraem loved to sing of your mysteries, and by whose power he served you alone. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen
