Kingdom of Light

Lord Jesus Christ, you have brought us safely to this new day, as you have promised to bring us safely to dwell with you one day in your Kingdom of light. Defend us against all that would weigh us down and slow our steps, so that we may run with delight in the way of your Gospel, who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Most Precious Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)

Lord Jesus Christ, in this most wonderful sacrament, you left us a memorial of your Passion, Death, and Resurrection; grant us so to venerate the mysteries of your Body and Blood, that we may ever find in them the fruit of your redemption, who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

 Mercy and Compassion

God of mercy and compassion, you hold out to us the hand of your mercy to raise us up from the misery our selfish sinfulness has brought upon us and upon those whose lives we touch. Teach us to weep where we have caused weeping, to mourn where we have caused mourning, and to lift up what we have brought low. In hope and trust, we turn to you for healing, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dwell in Holiness

O God and giver of all good gifts, you cleanse us from stain of sin and make us pure of heart through your Son Jesus Christ. Lead us to dwell with you in holiness in our everyday lives through constant growth in love for you and for all those whose lives we touch, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen

In the Shadow of Your Wings

O God of justice and of love, you care for your people in every time and place, despite our tendency to stray from you in our foolishness. Keep us in your care from morning until evening, that we may come to rest safely in the shadow of your all-powerful wings. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Wonders

O God, you are over all, in all, beyond all. Open our eyes to see the wonders that surround us; open our hearts to know the wonders of our brothers and sisters; open our lips to sing your praise. Restore all peoples in your image, who is our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

St. Anthony of Padua

O God, you speak the Word of life through the eloquence of the faithful servants whom you call to proclaim the Good News of salvation. By the example and intercession of Saint Anthony, raise up courageous and convincing preachers in our day to stir faith to life, to heal the brokenhearted, and to offer new life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Trinity Sunday

Eternal Father, who with the Word of Life and the Spirit of Truth are glorious in Trinity and majestic in unity, inspire us to drink ever more deeply of the wellspring of salvation that is the sacraments, that we may be drawn ever more fully into that divine life which awaits us in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen

Saint Barnabas

Grant, O God, that we may follow the example of your faithful servant Barnabas, who, seeking not his own renown but the well-being of your Church, gave generously of his life and substance for the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Weight of Sin

Gracious and merciful God, you heard the groans of a world that labors under the weight of sin, and you sent your only Son to lift its burden from humanity’s shoulders by taking it upon his own. Hear the prayers of sinners and the victims of sin, and deliver us by the power of his cross. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen
