Almighty God, you called blessed Cuthbert from following the flock to follow your Son as a hermit and then to be a shepherd of your people. Through the precious gift of your grace and by imitating him in his life of prayer, silence, solitude and service, may we too care for those who seek you and bring them home to your fold. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
