Almighty God, you enabled Saint Thomas Becket to lay down his life with undaunted spirit for the rights of the Church. Let his prayer help us to deny ourselves for Christ in this life, and so find our true life in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
